Well it's provisionally official !

Today as i sat at work i couldn't concentrate, finding myself daydreaming of flowers, dresses, favours and everything else i don't really need to be thinking about right now, but it's so hard not to! I find myself talking to my colleagues about nothing but weddings then thinking 'shut up woman! they've had enough leave them alone' So from now on unless asked i've promised to keep all wedding related chit chat to this blog until the wedding is closer :)

So when the clock struck 3pm i raced over to meet Ben who had asked for permission to finish early. He later admitted to rabbiting on about our wedding as much as i had done which made me smile as it's a sure sign he's as excited as me.

We drove into the town center, parked up and headed for the Town hall. All enquiries are around the back and as we stepped in i thought we might meet nervous faces as Ben still had his uniform on and for some people the logo isn't a welcome sight (we work for immigration) but it was pretty empty.

We were directed to the celebratory office where we had a great chat with one of the ladies about the wedding services they provide. It seems they are changing things at the town hall and refurbing the ceremony rooms as well as the waiting rooms although she didn't have any information on exactly what it was going to look like she has heard that the changes include new mirrors, leather seats, the rooms will now only hold 60 and they are now going to do afternoon ceremonies on a friday and saturday. As with all government offices everything seemed to be all over the place. In the end we provisionally booked for the 1st of september 2012 no time has been confirmed as they don't know whats happening with regards to the dinner time slots. If the above paragraph seems a little scatty and infomation less thats how it was sat in the office. I cracked a joke about wanting a later wedding because i don't wake up til 12 on  a saturday and not even a twitch from any of them :/ Any way it's booked she said we could go in October and have alook around the newly refurbished rooms which will be cool. We've also been told that we have to give our intention to marry before January 31st which will probably be here before we know it.

To top off this exciting day we had a trip with our moms to have a look around the Whiston Manorial Barn. There i met Mrs Neal who is the caretaker of the barn. My first impression? WOW it looks amazing on the inside and the outside, thatched, beams and stone this building is bursting with character! It truly is amazing! Mrs Neal gave us a run down of the do's and don't (there are more don't but ain't that life) I found her to be a little sharp when answering our questions i thought this was just me as i haven't been sleeping well this past week but everyone agreed she was alittle abrupt. However  i understand she has to protect the barn and make sure it's looked after well and i guess she's seen alot of idiots in her 10 years at the barn. but when i asked if i could hire round tables i wasn't expecting her to throw it back into my face with 'WHY WOULD YOU WANT ROUND TABLES?' and 'My tables DO NOT leave this barn' my internal bridezilla flared up and i couldn't help but think 'because i just want round fucking tables!' anyway she then explained why they wouldn't work due to the lack of clearance between the beams and i agreed but then why couldn't she have just said that without being funny about it? We have to have their DJ and they don't do Kareoke which i was gutted about because i thought that would be a laugh but you win some you lose some.  Then she have us a lecture on candles and the list of what we could have and couldn't have, well my plan includes LED candles so everything she said was a waste of breath. We also discussed table cloths and chair covers this was the first time she didn't talk down to us which was nice! I'm not a toughened wedding planner i've never done this before and if things go to plan i'll never have to do it again so why give me a hard time?

We thought most of our questions were answered but when we got home the inevitable happened and i realised i was supposed to ask about if we could have a photobooth but i totally spaced!  Tomorrow i shall phone the lady that books the Barn and see if she can help me with my query but if i need to call Mrs Neal for the answer, my mom can do it! Hehe!

Much love Jo x x

Ps. Sorry should have posted this yesterday but we came home late from the barn and i fell asleep as soon as i had stopped typing :)
